Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting and Almonds

This time, I received an order for my Red Velvet Cake with more Almonds on it. Since it was for a birthday of a Chinese family, of course, there has to be some red color somewhere on the cake. I've added 3 flowers on the top made of gumpaste and silver pearls. Since they've asked for more almonds, I got the whole Almonds and chopped it up, of course it was toasted first to bring out the almond goodness. ;)

Banana Cupcakes

This is another of our favorites. Banana Cupcakes! Loaded with fresh Banana, texture still light, airy and fluffy. Topped with smooth Rum Buttercream swirls and sprinkles. It's such joy to bake these Banana Cupcakes as my house will be filled with the fragrance of the Banana.

Pumpkin Pie

I remember the days of enjoying Pumpkin Pie on Thanksgiving when I was still in the States. After returning back to Jakarta for a number of years, and not being able to find the right tasting Pumpkin Pie, I thought I have to be able to make my own rich and creamy Pumpkin Pie with the right amount of spices to it. After some research and trials and errors, voila! It's just like the ones I had in the States!! With my signature rich and crumbly pie crust, filled with rich, creamy and right amount of spices, this tastes divine and I decided to make this for our Christmas family dinner. Topped with some whip cream, oh yeah, as you guessed, Perfect!

Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting and Toasted Almonds

This was a birthday cake request. This Red Velvet isn't just about the color but is also filled with Chocolate goodness. 4 layers of Red Velvet Cake, covered in Cream Cheese frosting that is not even close to overly sweet so you can still enjoy the Cheesy taste from the Cream Cheese, covered with some toasted sliced almonds. It's amazing how much flavor these almonds add to the cake.

Home made Noodles

Ask my childhood friends about their favorite food that my mother cooks up for them when they come over, their answer will definitely be "Noodles"! These are home made noodles with a harder/chewier texture. Definitely not for people who love their noodles soft, though we can cook it for a longer time. With the right combination of oil, sauce and chili, this is the perfect noodle for any time of the day.

Chocolate and Banana Cupcakes

These cupcakes were done specially for a friend's daughter's birthday. She requested colorful buttercream frosting on top of Chocolate Cupcakes and Banana Cupcakes. Banana Cupcakes are made with fresh Banana and not essence.

Kids Cupcakes

This were cupcakes made specially for a charity event to the orphanage home. What better way to put smiles on the children's faces other than bringing them some delicious Chocolate Cupcakes with Buttercream swirls topped with colorful hearts sprinkles. Seeing them enjoy the cupcakes with smiles on their faces was simply priceless.

Valentine's Day Cupcakes

And along came Valentine's Day. As the saying goes, "the way to a man's (or woman's, in my case) heart is through his (or her, of course) stomach. What a better gift than to share some light and fluffy, rich Chocolate Cupcakes with Rum Buttercream with lovely hearts to top it off. Love was definitely all around on Valentine's Day! Share the love.. ;)

Chinese New Year Cupcakes

This was a request for Chinese New Year Chocolate Cupcakes that was pretty but simple. Therefore, we've put up cute little flowers instead of sprinkles on top of our buttercream. As Red is an auspicious color for Chinese New Year, we went along with red and also pink flowers. When pretty meets simplicity. Sometimes less is definitely more.. :)

Grandma's Birthday Cupcakes

This was a special Chocolate Cupcakes done for my Grandmother's birthday. After a few trials and errors, we finally came up with the perfect recipe of Chocolate Cupcakes of light and airy texture with the fragrance of Chocolate filling up the whole area when we are baking this Cupcake. It's topped with Rum Buttercream and some red sprinkles. It went well with the crowd and everyone was happy about it.. :)

Quiche

The traditional cakes for Chinese New Year would be all the sweet and rich cakes. This year I have decided to add on a Western touch to Chinese New Year by adding Ham and Cheese Quiche which happens to be a hit! The rich and crumbly texture of the crust is achieved by adding just the right amount of butter and with generous amount of fillings of Bacon/Ham, onions and parsley and combination of Cheese definitely gives a divine taste to the Quiche. One bite and you'll be coming back for more.. The Quiche has become one of our best sellers.. Have you ordered yours? ;)
